A) 2007
B) 2008
C) 2009
D) 2010

Answer
C) 2009
The Bitcoin network officially went live on 3 January 2009, when Satoshi Nakamoto mined the Genesis Block (also known as "Block 0").
Embedded in it was a message taken from the front page of The Times:
“The Times 03/Jan/2009 Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks.”
That line wasn’t just a timestamp. It was a statement of intent, a snapshot of the world Bitcoin was built to fix.
The Genesis Block created 50 bitcoin that can never be spent, symbolising a clean break from the legacy financial system. From that moment, a new form of money began running, one that doesn’t rely on banks, governments, or permission.
