The U.S. Senate passed the “One Big Beautiful Act” by a 51–50 vote, but left out a key Bitcoin tax amendment from Senator Cynthia Lummis. The proposal aimed to eliminate capital gains taxes on small Bitcoin transactions under $300, up to $5,000 annually. Despite bipartisan support, Senator Mike Crapo blocked it from a floor vote. Lummis says she’ll continue fighting for Bitcoin-friendly tax reform.
