Close your Bitaroo account

You can close your Bitaroo account at any time. The steps below apply to the Bitaroo app and to the Bitaroo website, which share one account.

Before you close the account

  1. Withdraw your AUD and your bitcoin, so the account is empty.
  2. Download any reports you would like to keep, such as your transaction history.

Close the account

Sign in, go to Account, then General, and choose Close Account. Follow the prompts to confirm. Once the account is closed you will no longer be able to sign in or trade.

If you cannot sign in

Email support@bitaroo.com.au from the address on the account and ask us to close it. We will confirm who you are before acting on the request.

What happens to your information

Closing the account ends our use of your personal information to provide the service. Where AML/CTF record-keeping obligations apply, we retain relevant customer identification and transaction records for at least 7 years after we stop providing designated services, or as otherwise required by law. When information is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it. Our Privacy Policy sets this out in full, including how to ask what we hold about you.
